A simple healthy innovative, and creative jerk recipe where this light green vegetable is known as Cho Cho in Jamaica. But in case you don't know what Cho Cho (Chayote) is, it's a small green edible pear-shaped vegetable that’s commonly eaten in the Caribbean and Asia. Did you know Cho Cho (Chayote) is perfect for weight loss/calorie control diet as it belongs to the same family as melon, cucumber, and gourd – all contain a high water content? Also, Cho Cho (Chayote) is low in fat/carbohydrates. Below is a quick and easy recipe.
Ingredients:
3 Cho Cho (Chayotes)
¼ cup TricNic ® Jerk Marinade
Step 1
Prepare a gas or charcoal grill fire to MEDIUM-HIGH heat.
Step 2
Using a paring knife, proceed to cut each Cho Cho (chayote) into half and remove the seed. Put them in a large mixing bowl. Pour jerk marinade over Cho Cho, and turn to coat. Ensuring each half is coated with the marinade.
Step 3
Place the Cho Cho on a preheated grill, grill for 20-25 minutes, or until crisp and golden, turning them halfway through to cook evenly. Enjoy!
